To assist patients in understanding and coping with such an extreme change in lifestyle, The Apothecary Shops has developed a customized transplant patient starter kit. The kit is provided to the patient prior to being discharged from the hospital, and has a number of important components to help monitor secondary effects of the medication regimen prescribed for them including a medication organizer, thermometer, pill splitter and blood pressure monitor. Each member of The Apothecary Shops’ transplant staff is versed in all aspects of post-transplant care. Transplant pharmacists are available to the transplant team physicians and to transplant patients on a 24-hour basis.
