Jeffrey K. Karp, Pharm.D.
The Apothecary Shops’ General Manager, Dr. Jeffrey Karp, earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Arizona, College of Pharmacy in 1994. After graduation, he completed a specialty practice residency in Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy at the University of Texas, College of Pharmacy, where he also served as a clinical instructor and clinical assistant professor.
Dr. Karp joined The Apothecary Shops in January 1999 and opened the company’s second retail location that specialized in pediatrics, compounding and reproductive health. As his interest in reproductive health developed, so too did his vision of bringing The Apothecary Shops’ unique blend of caring, compassion and exemplary customer service to couples in need of specialty fertility medications throughout the nation.
Dr. Karp's clinical interest in reproductive health, coupled with his operational successes in developing and executing national distribution opportunities within the fertility specialty markets, led to the creation of our national specialty pharmacy facility which was launched in June 2007. In March 2008, the breadth of specialty services was expanded to include Oncology, Solid Organ Transplant, Infectious Diseases, Ophthalmology and Animal Health.
The state-of-the-art national specialty pharmacy facility has undergone two distinct expansions under Dr. Karp’s leadership and currently occupies 21,000-square-feet, houses 65 call center stations and has a 2,500-square-foot PCAB Accredited compounding lab and medication fulfillment center.
