Infectious Disease
The Apothecary Shops understand the challenges of patients who have been diagnosed with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Hepatitis C. A significant amount of compassion and education to help patients understand their disease as well as their treatments is what we offer to ease those overwhelming feelings.
The Apothecary Shops has found that partnering with physicians and patients can be the key to ensuring optimal treatment outcomes. We have established a series of clinical initiatives designed to monitor and improve therapy adherence, help patients become more comfortable and promote optimal outcomes.
The Apothecary Shops is proud to offer our monthly ClubMEDS, a free patient program specifically designed for HIV/AIDS individuals. The meeting is conducted in English and Spanish and offers personal support for patients as well as education on the disease and medications. An Apothecary Shop pharmacist leads the twice-a-month meeting and is available for one-on-one confidential consultation.

Our commitment to patient and physician care was recognized in April 2006, when The Apothecary Shops was exclusively awarded the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) vendor pharmacy contract for the Arizona AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). ADAP, administered by ADHS, provides access to medications used to treat HIV and prevent the onset of related opportunistic infections to low-income individuals with HIV disease who have limited or no coverage.
Working with the ADAP program and the HIV community is not new to The Apothecary Shops. The company has supported the program for several years and since 1996 has been a provider of HIV pharmacy services.
