Community Pharmacy Practice Residency
Residency Special Features
Residents will gain practical experience in outpatient care through community practice management with an emphasis in compounding, women's and men's health, fertility, infectious diseases and transplant medicine. Resident will have opportunities for experiential training in administration, veterinary medicine, oncology, ophthalmology and pain management. The resident also will be a visiting clinical instructor of Pharmacy Practice at Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, AZ. To direct patient care services, the resident will have the opportunity to educate students and other health care professionals and will be able to collaborate with other Phoenix area residents. Site Special Features
The Apothecary Shops has 16 specialty pharmacy practice sites, 8 of which are located in Arizona. In addition, The Apothecary Shops offer a nationwide specialty mail-order service. Each pharmacy site provides commercially available drug products in addition to compounding facilities to make specialized medications and dosage forms. The Apothecary Shops employ pharmacists who provide patient consultations on many disease states and drug products, but develop excellence in providing care in the following areas: women's health, HIV, transplant, pain management, fertility, compounding, veterinary medicine, oncology and ophthalmology. Pharmacy hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:30 to 12:30 Saturday, closed Sunday.
