Retail Specialty Pharmacy - Pharmacist
Pharmacist in Charge
Location: Scottsdale, AZ
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will administer a process of dispensing of medication to patients according to their physician’s order with highest attention to accuracy, patient education and awareness. The position is also responsible for managing all of the clinical programs administered by The Apothecary Shops. This position must comply with all applicable laws and regulations for a single pharmacy and supervises professional, technical, and support staff; and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB:
• Provides pharmacy services to patient and medical practitioners. Counsels patients and medical practitioners regarding the nature and us of drugs, and trains and/or supervises pharmacy interns.
• Responsible for achieving individual pharmacy operating goals related to business objectives which will maximize revenue gains, meet compliance, develop staff and support our culture.
• Oversees the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications to patients or medical practitioners.
• Oversees the preparation of all necessary records on prescriptions, patient charges and inventory.

Compounding Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, packages, and distributes medications; performs clerical duties related to the operation of a pharmacy; and performs other related duties as required. Also responsible for following USP guidelines to make various dosage forms of compounded medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB:
• Selects drugs from stock for preparation; counts, pours, or mixes pharmaceuticals; places pharmaceutical products in appropriate containers and affixes labels to containers; packages and repackages pharmaceuticals to other clinics.
• Monitors prescription inventory for expired pharmaceuticals that must be returned to manufacturer
• Receives prescriptions and obtains information from patients at pharmacy window to determine insurance eligibility; using a computerized system, enters prescription data to create a patient profile
• Answers telephones and takes messages for patient refill requests and related pharmacy business
• Helps to maintain the pharmacy in a clean and orderly condition

This position has responsibility for generating Fed Ex shipping labels accurately and efficiently using Fed Ex Shipping Manager software. Individual is also responsible for preparing boxes and using them to ship pharmaceutical packages in an elegant manner.

Specialty Care Coordinator (Oncology)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Experienced pharmacy technician needed for fast paced growing mail order specialty pharmacy. Applicant will have the opportunity to learn and develop various aspects of clinical mail order pharmacy experience with an emphasis on working with oncology practitioners and patients. Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for following USP guidelines and proper aseptic technique to make various dosage forms of compounded medication under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. The sterile compounding technician is also responsible for managing inventory of supplies and maintaining a clean and highly organized clean room and lab.
ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB:
• Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions into the appropriate sterile end product
• Properly use all equipment in the lab that is necessary to make the compound in a sterile environment
• Wash and sterilize dishes and equipment after use
• Ensure the clean room and related equipment are cleaned and maintained according to policy
• Calibration and proper documentation of scales, electronic meters, etc.
• Routinely checking for outdated or soon to expire chemicals, commercially available products and compounded products
• Follow all safety and USP 797guidelines for preparation of sterile compounded medications
• Work closely with Quality Assurance Department to ensure product sterility, potency and absence of endotoxins.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• High School diploma or equivalent
• National certification and state licensure current and in good standing

Accounts Receivable Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for the management and direction of the Accounts Receivable Staff. Responsibilities include creating and executing a plan for the department which ensures effective credit policies and processes for open accounts, efficiencies through automation, as well as timely collection of all receivables and avoidance of bad debt. • Establishes, communicates, and implements account receivable processes and policies. Ensures customer and payer specific payment terms are met.
