PCAB
Quality matters! It’s official…The AVMA publically supports and AAHA publically endorses working with Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board’s (PCAB) Accredited Compounding Pharmacies. Others are following. PCAB ensures quality and protects you, the prescriber, when your patient needs a compounded drug.
The Apothecary Shops has PCAB-accredited pharmacies licensed in all 50 states. In fact, one of our locations was the first veterinary pharmacies in the nation to earn this coveted designation. This shows our commitment to safety and high-quality standards. The Apothecary Shops is committed to PCAB accreditation for all of our facilities as we continue to grow and expand our services throughout the United States.
Further information and a listing of PCAB-accredited pharmacies are available at www.pcab.org.
PCAB testimonials from industry leaders
“Veterinarians must take a more active role in ensuring that ingredients used in compounded products (and any manufactured product, be it food, drug, or animal dietary supplement) are from a reputable source, meet standards of the United States Pharmacopeia, and are accompanied by valid certificates of analysis. For compounded drugs, an important step toward ensuring standards are met is to prescribe only through pharmacies accredited by the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (www.pcab.org).”

“One element in evaluating the quality of a compounding pharmacy is whether the pharmacy is accredited by an independent accreditation body. For example, the Pharmacy Compounding Accreditation Board (PCAB) offers accreditation to compounding pharmacies that meet high quality and practice standards.”
